Finish store setup before opening the register

When you first open the dashboard, follow the onboarding steps in order. Most shops touch:

  • Branches — at least one location (you can rename it later).
  • Products, categories, tags — add enough real items to practice a sale, even if barcodes and labels come later.
  • How you get paid — set this in Finance / billing so checkout matches what you use (card, mobile money, etc., depending on your provider and country).
  • Staff — invite people and assign cashier vs manager (or similar) so only trusted people can void sales or change the catalogue.

You do not need every optional field on day one. Add tax details, product codes, and tighter stock discipline as you grow—that is easier than cleaning months of sloppy data later.
