Products, variations, pricing, and low-stock vigilance

- Product codes (SKU / barcode). Use one code per product (or per size/colour). Duplicates confuse imports and search—fixing them later is slow.
- Opening stock. Enter stock levels honestly. If the system says you have items you do not, sales and “low stock” warnings will lie to you.
- Variations. If you sell the same item in multiple sizes or colours, add them as variations with the right barcode on each. That matches what is on the shelf and what the cashier scans.
- Categories and tags. Pick short names your staff actually use—these power search and filters on the POS.
- Low stock. Check the inventory / warnings area regularly. Alerts help, but you still want to look at the shelf sometimes.
